ADOPT A CAMPGROUND
Green Valley Falls Campground
Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
Many of you have had the pleasure of experiencing the magic of camping in Green Valley Falls Campground. Remember the fun you had playing in the falls, watching the stars at night, and eating those delicious pancakes cooked over the open campfire?
Because of the hazards created by the high incidence of oak tree mortality, California State Parks reluctantly had to close the campground this past year. With the current state budget, the park does not have the thousands of dollars needed to reopen the campground. We need your help to reopen Green Valley so that children and adults will have an opportunity to experience the same kind of magic you did. Your generous donation will make that magic possible.
Your donation will help to ensure that this campground reopens. Our goal is to open one “loop” at time, starting with campsites 64-81, our most popular sites. How will your donation be used? It will:
- Purchase new camp tables
- Repair drinking fountains
- Remove hazardous trees
- Replace camp stoves
- Plant new trees and native shrubs
- And much more
Any amount will be gratefully accepted and will be acknowledged with a donation receipt and mention in our newsletter. CRSPIA is a 501(c)3 non-profit public charitable organization; your donation is tax deductible. Donations received will be placed in a special account just for the purpose of reopening Green Valley. For those who can give $200.00 or more, either as an individual or with your favorite group, we would like to show our appreciation with:
- A complimentary one-year membership in CRSPIA
- Your name or the name of someone you wish to honor proudly displayed in the campground
- Your choice of either three nights free camping or five days of free day use
Won’t you please help us get this very special campground reopened? For more information, please call us at 619-756-4345 or email jerrydave1@sbcglobal.net.
Sincerely,
Dave Hernandez
